"The total mir-133a expression level remained unchanged in total rna extracts from fibrotic and human liver. However, mir-133a was specifically down-regulated in hsc during fibrogenesis. In turn, overexpression of mir-133a in primary mouse hsc leads to a decrease in collagen expression. Indicating that mir-33a has anti-fibrosis effect."
